Simple Rules
There are some simple rules when taken photographs. You might have heard these from other photographers or floating around on the intertubes. These are my suggestions, however not all-inclusive, but maybe it will point you in the right direction to capture your imagination.
First off I suggest having a camera, these days they are plentiful and there are many different types of cameras. The idea is the camera that you carry with you everywhere will be the best tool at capturing good photos. For a lot of people this would be their cell phone camera, there is nothing wrong with that. It is very portable and is usually within arms reach.
Secondly you need some light to be able to take a decent photo. Depending on your camera you might be able to take fairly good low light pictures, but the idea of that is you need to boost your ISO ( camera sensitivity) in order to reduce blurring, but that brings in grain. There are lighting tricks you can use to still get the look you are going.
Most people will say rule of thirds for this, and it can be true. With the Fibonacci algorithm this plays well with most people’s minds eye when looking at photographs. However I am a believer of rules are meant to be broken, and this is one that I try to break.
Fourthly is the post processing of the photo. Take this time and enjoy it. You will want a program that is non-destructive in its processing of photos. This way you can totally mess up you photograph with the sliders and adjustments while having the ability to go back to the original photo at any point. This is the point when you can reframe your photo, or can bring out your artistic side and mess with black and white or having one color pop out or a combination.

All in all take lots of pictures, dance with the light, break the rules and make mistakes. In the end push yourself, enjoy the adventures, and share the memories.
